Summer Meets Fall

The last couple of weeks I have been majorly harping on transitioning my wardrobe from summer to fall. This seemingly simple task is such a such a complex task for me and successfully achieving it eludes me every year. So after digging down and trying to pinpoint exactly why this is so difficult for me, I figured out the cause; I have no transition pieces! All of my summer clothes scream "summer" and all my winter clothes scream "winter". I don't have any pieces to take me across the seasons. So that has been my goal this year, acquiring pieces that function for more than just one season.

The Giver That Keeps on Giving...Until She Doesn't

Odd title for a post. You're wondering what it means. Well, let me regale you with the tragic tale...don't worry though, it has a happy ending!

Once upon a time, in the year 1990, my adorable little sister was born. I loved her dearly; if only for the fact that she was a girl. (My brother received no such love...poor guy) I loved her tiny fingers and her tiny toes. I snuggled her up and kissed her cheeks; I was thrilled to finally have a sister. However, quickly after her arrival, the novelty of said sister wore off and we became the typical feuding siblings that sisters usually are. 6 years was a huge age gap when we were kids and she cramped my "cool" style. I just couldn't have any of that.

Le Tote: Cobalt POP

It's Monday! And I'm in a much better mood than last week. Yaaaay. Mondays don't usually encourage a good mood but I had a good weekend. And by that, I mean I didn't do anything. We sat around the house eating chili and enjoying Harry Potter weekend on ABC Family. I love Harry Potter weekend. I own all of the movies but I drop everything for HPW. All true Potter heads do, it's our thang.

Aaaaand I began a project this weekend...for the blog...and I'm really excited about it. And I'm going to be a ball buster and make you wait to see what it is. Mwahahaha. Apparently this good mood comes with a side of evil...

Le Tote: Multi Maxi

Le Tote multi-color maxi sheer fedora style outfit

Le Tote has made me one happy chick again! I am positively enamored with this skirt...this entire outfit really. I asked my husband what he thought and he said "Well...it's colorful." aka "I don't care for it." But what does he know? Absolutely nothing.

The I'm-Too-Lazy-to-Put-on-Pants Syndrome

Happy Tuesday lovelies. It's been pretty quiet round these parts. Hung around with little lady today and we painted nails, did hair and all those other girlie things. We only left the house to watch the hubs play baseball. I don't like sports in general, baseball least of all, but truth be told I think it's sexy. Only when the hubs plays, of course. Something about him hitting the ball and running those bases is super hot. And don't worry, he's fully aware and uses it to his full advantage.

A Maxi Improvement

Happy Friday everyone! I'm no longer using my phone as a camera, I'm using my amazing new Canon Rebel XT and it is awesome. But I have to say, now all of my flaws, blemishes and stray hairs are there in perfect clarity! It's a little intimidating! And my little Iz is pretty dang good because the camera may have changed, but my little photographer is still the same!
I've worn this maxi dress once before but I saw this tutorial on Pinterest and it easily transformed my dress into a skirt.

Easy peasy, right? Saves me the purchase of buying a skirt!

Maxi and Me

It's friday! Hooray! And what do I have for Friday?  I have a new blog design! What What! I liked the old one well enough but it was kind of just first come first serve. It was the first one I came across; some pre-made "insert your name here" kind of thing and there wasn't much thought into it. This new design is 110% all mine. Made this little beauty from scratch, all the way down to the comment signature and sidebar labels and my itty bitty navicon up there on your internet tab...maybe I should've made sure everyone didn't think it was hideous before I revealed that... haha Well, there's still some little kinks to work out but they can be taken care of and I'm proud of her regardless!

This took me a lot of time because I learned everything about blog design from my good friend Google search. Maybe you've heard of him? He's pretty helpful. But even with his help, it took a lot of trial and error. There are a lot of great tutorials out there but they're all over the place and some (womp womp) don't work at all. I've been thinking of compiling all of my own tips and tricks and posting my own tutorials. What do you think? Any takers? That wasn't my intention or direction I had originally planned for this here blog but I believe I've gotten pretty good at understanding the inner workings of HTML. Let me know if this is something you'd like to see.

SO for today's real purpose...my super sweet maxi dress! Yes, another dress! And this time it's a long dress. We gettin' fancy up in hurr! Maxi's are meant to be super casual but I feel a little more than just "casual" in it. This isn't something I would typically buy but I saw Danielle over at Goodwillista (isn't that blog name awesome sauce? Wish I would have thought of it!) looking so dang cute in her maxi skirt, I knew what my next purchase was going to be. Danielle is the lovely person who is solely responsible for me ever stepping foot inside a Goodwill or thrift store. It absolutely changed my life. For reals. So I owe Danielle a big THANK YOU!!
