A Vision in Grey

One Last Shebang
So if you notice over there in the sidebar, I've added a shop my closet at Poshmark. It took me forever to finally put together but it was a long time coming. After jean jackets came back in style and I realized I used to have one and got rid of it, I've been afraid to get rid of anything. So I have a closet (and boxes upon boxes) filled with clothes that never get worn but never get thrown out either. I'm most definitely a hoarder when it comes to clothes. I'm ashamed at just how much just hangs there neglected, but I have an unnatural fear!
So I've been forcing myself to abide by the rule "if it hasn't been worn it in a year, it's time to go". Well, it's still REALLY hard to bring myself to get rid of things! These cobalt skinnies are one of those things. I've not worn them for a year and even then I only wore theses cobalt skinnies a couple times so they are still like new. It's so hard to get rid of something that is like new! So I'm giving them one last "hoorah" to see if they really belong on the short list. Problem is, I'm still undecided!

Spring Closet Additions
Hey, guys! I thought I'd try something new and a little different from my normal posts today. I am a huge fan of Danielle over at Goodwillista; if you've read my blog for any length of time, you probably already know that. She was the inspiration and motivation behind the starting of this here blog of mine. She is the most thrifty and frugal shopper I've ever seen and she always looks gorgeous! It's impossible not to be motivated by that!

Each month Danielle does a post on the additions she's added to her closet, how much she spent and how much she saved. I am always in awe of her "hauls" and how little she spent. It definitely raises the bar and makes me want to improve my money-saving game!
I'm hoping doing this for myself will help me document what I'm bringing in and how much money I've spent. It's easy to go over budget when you're not keeping track; as I'm sure most of you are aware! So I'm hoping this will hold me to my budget, encourage me to hunt a little more for deals, and maybe even help me come up with new ways to work the things in my closet.

No Spend Spring: No Money, No Problem
Today is the first day of spring! That puts me in a "Hells yeah!" kinda mood! Except....slow your roll partner....it's only 40°! However, I know (or am hoping rather) some spring weather is around the corner and I'm ready to hurl myself into spring fashion.
But wait! I have to pump the breaks again, I have NO money to spend on a new season of clothes! I've got a certain little girl's birthday party to fund AND we're in the middle of a move. I repeat: I have NO money to spend on clothes! However, I've decided that rather than letting that bring me down, I'm going to make what I already have work into spring 2014.
I've always had the mindset that I need to restock my closet with every new season and when I can't, that bums me out. Especially when all of the stores are proudly displaying all these beautiful new pieces and fellow bloggers are rocking their new purchases. It's so hard not to want a piece of that! So this season is all about retraining my brain; looking at what I've already got in a whole new way. I've been on a serious hunt for inspiration on new ways to rock what I've already got in my closet. After going through all of my long-forgotten pins, I've found tons of great inspiration and outfits made entirely out of pieces I already own. So now, rather than to be bummed about my lack of funds, I'm excited to try things in new ways. Maybe I can be that 1 blogger out of a million who can inspire you NOT to go shopping this season! :)

Deja Vu
I know, I know. I literally just wore these boots and a dress. I promise I'm going to give them a break, I just needed to get out of my system. Of all the shoes I own, these are my favs.

Like They're Going Out of Style
That's how I'm wearing these boots; like they're going out of style. Which I sincerely hope doesn't happen. I've had them for 3 years now and they're still my favorite part of fall/winter. AND I got these at Payless. Payless boots I got for $30, going strong 3 years and running. Take that all you $200 pairs of boots! Boom.

Le Tote: Feather
They're faux. They're leather. They're feather. Yep, my feather shorts. Could you imagine real feather shorts? Anyway, I've debated on actually getting a pair of these for a while now. I kept seeing them on other people and they were so cute and could be styled a million different ways but I just thought they were too "edgy" for me. I'm glad to have been wrong. I'm loving my "feather" shorts.

Le Tote: Cobalt POP
It's Monday! And I'm in a much better mood than last week. Yaaaay. Mondays don't usually encourage a good mood but I had a good weekend. And by that, I mean I didn't do anything. We sat around the house eating chili and enjoying Harry Potter weekend on ABC Family. I love Harry Potter weekend. I own all of the movies but I drop everything for HPW. All true Potter heads do, it's our thang.
Aaaaand I began a project this weekend...for the blog...and I'm really excited about it. And I'm going to be a ball buster and make you wait to see what it is. Mwahahaha. Apparently this good mood comes with a side of evil...

Neon Flair
The weather is cooling off and it's time to break out the ol' denim jacket again. Here I am lamenting over summer's passing again. Just you wait until the cold weather really sets in...then you're really going to see some "woe is me" posts. Maybe I should just move south...

50 Shades of Grey
Yes, this title was inspired by the book but only because it's catchy and it fit, not because I like the book. I got about halfway through the first book and realized everything seemed a little familiar. Basically, it's a Twilight replica with a masochist instead of a vampire. I mean, if you're going to copy a book, at least pick a good one! Amirite??

Polka Dot Perfection
So hey, big news! This skirt apparently has pockets! And I am apparently an idiot because I have had this skirt for nearly a year and had no idea that this skirt contained this handy-dandy feature. So yeah. there's that. Wow.

Just Jeans
Not boyfriend jeans, not skinny jeans. Not colored or printed or distressed. Just jeans. They still exist! And they're perfect for functionality and showing off my shirt. Which I love. I've become a real fan of floral print. I used to not own anything floral. It's a frilly print and it just wasn't me. But, I don't rule out anything anymore and I dress how I feel. Your mood changes, why shouldn't your style?

Le Tote: Summer Blues
You know, with school being back in, I am realizing just how terribly I'm going to miss summer. Summer is my absolute favorite for numerous reasons...firstly, no cold. I'm cold natured anyway and winter is brutal. And #2: the sun! Winter has no sun at all. It's a mix between overcast and night and it's de-press-ing! Aww woe is me. Sweet summer, I am going to miss you!
BIIIIG change for the Blincoe household....
This school year is going to be a little different for us, too. We've decided to homeschool our youngest. She's heading to

Le Tote: Business in the Front...
A total party in the back! No, I'm not talking about a mullet. In fact, if you have a mullet, cut that ish immediately! Then you can come back and read my blog. But seriously, I L-O-V-E this shirt! Really, how fun is this shirt? And, dare I say, sexy? (gasp!) Mom's can't be sexy! But guess what? This mom just rocked some sexy. As Mr Timberlake says, I'm bringin it back! Booyah!

Le Tote: Supa Dupa Fly
Me I'm supa fly, supa dupa fly (I can't stand the rain) Takin' it back old school style with a little Missy E today. She has literally nothing to do with this outfit other than they're both fly. I think that's reason enough to quote Miss Elliot, don't you?

Trend Spin: Red, White and Blue
Well, it's the 4th of July! I'm not a fan of red, white and blue if I'm being honest. It's so very unpatriotic of me but there it is. Best I could do is throw on some red lipstick but hey, it still adds up to red, white and blue!

Talk Color to Me
Kind of a play on "Talk Derby to me". I guess unless you're from a town who lives for Derby because that's the only thing that has ever happened around here, ever, you may not know that phrase. However, I'm sticking with it.

Sheer Delight
I've hopped on the sheer bandwagon. I have one other "sheer" top that you've seen quite a few times but it's actually pretty opaque and I always wear a cami under it anyway. This time I decided (once again) what the hell! I've said it before and I'll say it again, I may be a mom but I'm not dead! In fact, I'm still in my 20's! And this is the last year I can say I'm in my 20's, I'm quickly approaching 29, so I'm going to spend one more year embracing my youth. I'll dress like an adult next year...maybe.

Lady of the Night
Another "Pinterest told me to" 'fit. The jury is still out on this one. To be real honest, I felt like a hooker. Not like a 'Pretty Woman' hooker, more like a 'Grand Theft Auto' lady of the night. I keeps it real. It looked so cute on the other girl. Maybe it's just something you have to get used to? What do you guys think about it? Seriously, honest opinion.
