Casual Shopping

Hey guys! I've got some major construction planned for this here blog. Well, it might not be considered major construction for anyone else but I'm learning as I go and it can be time consuming.

This was a really good weekend. Why you ask? Because this weekend marked the beginning of my spring break! Whoo! And it's perfect timing because little miss turns 5 this week!! I cannot believe she's 5! All parents say this but, where does the time go?

Her and I went out party shopping this weekend at Micheal's and The Dollar Store!! It's amazing what you can find when you are actively trying to save money! I never visit The Dollar Store but I am soo glad I decided to check it out because it saved me tons! I have lots of projects planned for her party (thank god I'm off all week to do them) so stay tuned for that!

Since the day was spent shopping, I dressed comfy. I hate when you're getting in and out of the car and you have to repeatedly pull down your shirt or pull up your pants. You know the feeling! So comfy, casual it was!

Sweater: Old Navy (old)
Jeans: Target $20.00
Shoes: Walmart $1.99
Scarf: Target (gift)
Bracelet: Walmart $5.00
Watch: given to my by my grandmother
Ring: given to me by my grandmother

Grand Total: $26.99

So these shoes. I got these shoes in the girl's section at Walmart about 2 years ago for $1.99! I bought them because they were cute and the price was right but I have never worn them before now because I had nothing to go with them. So after 2 years in my closet, they finally made an appearance!

    1. I was amazed by all they had there! It has been such a long time since I had been but I don't think I'll ever shop for party supplies anywhere else! And I am definitely going back for Easter things!

  2. Cute flats! They could go with any neutrals, as you've done here.

And yay for brand-new bloggers -- welcome! I've almost reached a year with my style blog, and the best advice I can give at this point is to start small and not feel overwhelmed by all the "stuff" out there, like giveaways and reviews and guest posts and followers and whatnot. I'm still experimenting and having fun. I like what you put on your "About Me" page, that if only this is to help inspire yourself, then it's worth it! :)

    1. Aww, thanks for that! That is maybe the best tip I've gotten yet because I have definitely felt overwhelmed at times! I need to periodically remind myself why I started this. Thanks so much for your comment, I'm so glad you stopped by!

  3. Congrats on adding new buttons-great job!!! What plugin did you use to create them? Mine don't show up on my laptop for some reason:(( Your little princess is soooo pretty, I agree with you that time flies by so fast-I'm 35 weeks pregnant and can't believe it-feels it was yesterday when I found out:) By the way I'm hosting a link up party and would love to see your look there!

    1. I used an image map site. I have seen so many tutorials on how to do it but they were all so complicated. This is way is stupid easy; go to www.image-maps.com. You just upload your image(s) and you click on the image where you'd like your link to be and enter your URL. Go back to your blog design and add it as a regular HTML image. Easy! Here's the tutorial I used:

And absolutely I will check out the link party! I'm loving these link ups, it's such a fun way to find new blogs!

  5. What a great outfit! I love the color of the sweater, SO pretty :) Also, can I just say: I'm so impressed with your "button" work on your blog..it gives me hope that maybe I can figure out how to add them myself ha! (I don't think I should admit how long it took me to do my blog header...but it involved "hours" ;)

    1. Oh, don't feel bad! It took me DAYS to get the template figured out in the beginning! I had to re-size and reconfigure my header like 4 times! Haha! Google has become my best friend for finding tutorials but even then, it doesn't always work! Trial and error has been the theme here! ;) Thanks so much for stopping by!

    1. I love finding a good deal! I've made a pact with myself to never buy something that isn't an amazing sale/deal unless I absolutely HAVE to have it. So finding things so cheap is awesome!
