A Sad Farewell is Looming

That yearly farewell to summer is coming. And I am dreading it. Fall is absolutely my favorite season but it's what comes after it that I dread. It taints my view of fall. I can't anticipate my favorite season because my least favorite season follows it. Are there actually people out there who like winter? I just can't see the appeal. The days are shorter, drearier, colder and it seems to draaaaaaag on forever. It's usually about this time of the year that my seasonal depression starts to slowly creep in. So I'm holding on desperately to what last shreds of summer I can. While I was embracing fall fashion last week, not today. No dressing for fall, I'm full on summer today with this white/nautical feel....after all, no white after labor day, right? Today is the last day I can wear white this year, right? Psssh. I have never felt the need to abide by that rule. Is it actually still a "rule" anymore anyway? 

Pinning for the Win

It's another outfit post! I really have to give myself a pat on the back for my consistency; something I've been lacking here lately. Granted it's only been 2 weeks but it's still more than there has been around this ghost town. I'm hoping the change in the seasons will re-inspire my will to put together outfits and motivation to photograph them. I hate cold weather anyway and this winter has been particularly Brutal. With a capital B!

Speeeaaaking of photographing them, my husband had a long day on the softball field and immediately came home for a nap. I couldn't let my well-thought-out outfit go to waste so I enlisted the help of my 5 year old. So while you're perusing through and maybe thinking these look a little less than perfect, remember a very small child took them...I have to applaud her effort and stand by her for helping me out in a bind ;)

OWB Week: Mint

 

Bubble Mint Gum..get it? Like double mint gum but it's bubble...because it's a bubble necklace. Seriously, these puns are my favorite part of the day. I have a very sophisticated sense of humor. Alright! Today kicks off OWB (Our World Boutique) week! A total party in the back! No, I'm not talking about a mullet. In fact, if you have a mullet, cut that ish immediately! Then you can come back and read my blog. But seriously, I L-O-V-E this shirt! Really, how fun is this shirt? And, dare I say, sexy? (gasp!) Mom's can't be sexy! But guess what? This mom just rocked some sexy. As Mr Timberlake says, I'm bringin it back! Booyah!

Monochrome

Sometimes, you just want to go simple. I think that sometimes I over think what I'm going to wear so keeping it simple was a nice and easy change of pace. Can you go wrong with black and white? It's always a trend that's in style. I just got the top because I have been wanting a classic stripe for a while. My daughter calls this my baby onesie because it's actually a bodysuit that snaps in the crotch. It's bizarre but I didn't have any problems with my shirt coming untucked!

That's What Friends are For...

Are you singing it? Come on, let's do a duet. Keep smiling, Keep shining, That's what friends are for! Tell me you know Mrs Warwick! You don't? Yeah, me either. I just know that one catchy line...I had to googlize who sang it. Yeah, googlize is a word...or it is now.

My bestie gave me this shirt. She was cleaning out her closet and that's what my friends are for. I am my relations favorite charity case. They love to give me stuff and I love to take it. This particular friend has given me all but her first born. And that's only because she hasn't had it yet. I kid, I kid. I don't need anymore mouths to feed. But if she decides to move across the country, I may need something to leverage. Love you, Ker!

My Week in White: Old Navy, You've Done it Again!

Hey guys, it's the last day of my week in white!  Today is my review on the awesome jeans I've been sporting all week. If you follow my blog you know that I am a thrifter through and through. Sometimes though, you just can't find what you're looking for and you have to go retail. Where do I shop when I can't thrift but I still want to be kind to my wallet? Old Navy, of course! Old Navy is always budget friendly and always up on the current trends. Usually, you get what you pay  for and buying cheaper means cheaper quality but Old Navy always delivers. I still have clothes from high school that are still in great shape. I love that I can shop for my entire family in one store and I can always try out that new trend without breaking the bank to do it. So when I got offered to try out Old Navy's white jeans I was stoked! As you've seen all week, white jeans are so versatile, you can wear them so many ways. You can go casual but you can dress them up in a way you just can't dress up regular denim. I knew that coming up with different ways to style these would be no problem. But I had no idea how hard it would be to narrow them down! As many as I've put together this week, I have that many more still hanging in my closet just waiting to be worn. For us girls who have a minimal amount in the budget for clothes, versatile pieces are invaluable. These jeans are a wardrobe workhorse! And with Old Navy's prices, you can shop retail on a thrifters budget. So what do you need to do? Run! Don't walk, run to Old Navy and snag you a pair of these babies! I walked into the store and was surrounded by all of the glorious, new spring season's clothes and I spent way too much time (and money!) in there than I should have! Old Navy, you've done it again! My Week in White: I'm a Little Bit Rock N' Roll

It's day 3 of white jean week! Are you tired of seeing them yet? I could actually make a month's worth of outfits out of these babies but I won't do that to ya. This outfit may be my favorite so far. It's casual but it's really fun. This wasn't even one of my planned outfits, it just spontaneously came together at the last minute. And I absolutely love these heels! They were a super duper thrift find coming in at $8.00. They're so high though! They made me taller than my husband who is 6'3, if that gives you an idea. So like a nerd, I had to do a few laps around the house in them to get used to it. Lame, I know. I give you permission to laugh.
