The Best of Beauty 2013

The new year is here, it's 2014! Which doesn't feel right to me because for some reason it still feels like 2012. It doesn't even feel like it should be 2013, yet 2014 is here. Odd, I know. But regardless of my wonky internal clock, we're in the year 2014! So to give 2013 a good send off, Kallie from But First, Coffee and I have teamed up together to bring you our favorite beauty products of the year.

You guys probably already know Kallie by now; we've worked together to bring you some fun videos before. I always say this, but I absolutely love watching Kallie! She is the reason I ventured into YouTube and making videos; because she is just that darn good! She's so gorgeous, fun to watch and I always learn a lot from her. Some of my most favorite products I owe to her for recommending them. Case in point: you need to go check her out!

So the best of 2013 is a roundup of all the beauty products I have loved this year. There's a little bit of everything; makeup, skincare, hair care, you name it. Trust me, I had a lot of trouble narrowing down products to mention but these are the best of the best. I didn't try to find just any product to fill a category; these are here because they're genuinely my loves!

Unboxing the Rose Voxbox

The time has come, yet again, for another voxbox! Yaay! I love getting the voxboxes because it is always filled with a wide array of goodies and it's always a surprise. There just aren't enough surprises in life, am I right? 

This box was no exception. I had some makeup products, some snacks, nail polish and even some shoes insoles. It's great because it gives me a chance to try things that I might not ordinarily buy in the store. These boxes let me discover some new, great products for free!

Fancy Pants Nails: Reverse French Tip

I got another cheat for ya! I love the reverse french tip manicures but I was looking up tutorials and these crazy women are free-handing this stuff! I think I have established that I can do no such thing. But fear not! If there's a cheat, I will find it....and I did.

Fancy Pants Nails With Kiss Gradation Polishes

So the people over at Influenster thought I was so fabulous and my review on the Spring Voxbox was so awesome, they sent me a Kiss Gradation Polish kit as a "high five, you go girl". Pretty sweet. I'm pretty bad when it comes to nail art so if there is a product that can make it easier, I'm all for it! Let's check it out, shall we!

The kit comes with 3 polishes that are "specially formulated" for the gradient effect. I didn't know how well I was going to be able to pull this off because I have to use the make-up sponge cheat for ombre nails. I'll admit, I was a little skeptical on how this "specially formulated" polish was going to help my inept abilities of nail painting. I'm just that bad!

I'm getting all kinds of fancy up in here! This is the SECOND nail tutorial I've done and for someone who sucks at nails, this is winning! That also goes to show you, that if you suck at nails too, you can fake it til you make it! Last time was Two Toned Nails, this time it's El Ombre (besties for life if you get that PeeWee's Playhouse reference)! This tutorial isn't the first of it's kind by any means. My purpose was really just to show you that anyone can do it. Seriously, anyone.

DIY Fancy Pants, Two Tone Nails

I am really bad at doing nails. And by bad, I mean awful. The fanciest I've ever gotten is painting one finger a different color. Impressive, huh? It's not that I can't figure it out, it's just that every time I paint my nails it goes a little something like this...

Can I get an amen?? Other than for carrying in groceries, I'm not sure why I even have a left hand. But this is like the idiot's guide to having impressive nails. There's a nice little cheat that even I can do! What's the secret? Tape!
