Flannel Chic

It's another Monday! And luckily, I'm in a much better mood this week than I have been! Mostly because I have been surprised with a vacation this week! That's right, we're heading to good ol' Gatlinburg TN this Wednesday! Totally unexpected, total surprise and I am so excited!

But my mood improvement is also largely in part by my boots finally arriving in the mail this weekend! Yaay! I have been not so patiently waiting for them since I hit that "check out" button at Oasap. I have desperately been wanting a pair because what sort of fashion blogger doesn't own a pair of ankle boots?? I find all of these Pinterest outfits I want to recreate but it's always "Aww, if I only had the boots!" But now I do (happy dance) and I am in luurv! They're adorable and comfortable. These puppies are lined on the inside with micro-suede. It's like blankets for your feet! Blankets. For. Your. Feet.

See what I did there? Actually able to do the copycat thang! Thank you, Oasap!

Flannel- Mossimo (thrifted) // DIY Distressed Skinnies- Old Navy (thirfted) // Scarf- Thrifted // Boots (also come in black) c/o Oasap

So these rockin' pair of boots came from Oasap. I've said it before and I must say it again; I looove Oasap! They're awesome for so many reasons; great prices, awesome customer service (you NEVER hear that anymore) but also because every time you make a purchase, you can get shop credits. You wear your fabulous item and submit a picture of how you styled it. Boom; automatic shop credits. Gettin' paid to shop, yo! I didn't know this for the longest time and I shudder at all the missed opportunities. All that free stuff! Waah! But that's why I'm sharing it with you! I always love getting something for nothing. I guess I'm just greedy like that. Ain't no shame in my game and it's especially awesome because with my credits, I got these bad boys for just $3! Awww snaaaap.
In addition to wanting ankle boots, I've been wanting a pair of distressed jeans soooo bad. I just love how you can style them with heels or a blazer or some other schnazzy item and it doesn't look stuffy. They bring an immediate casual factor into the equation. However, I didn't want to go buy a pair. Other than just being a cheapskate, I have way too many pairs of jeans as it is and I just don't have the room. Solution? DIY those bad boys. I love the way they turned out. I didn't want a "destroyed" look, just a little distressing and that's why I love the DIY. It's so easy to do, and you can customize them to exactly what you're looking for. Holla at cha gurl if you want a tutorial. Hope your week has started as good as mine! Until next time...

  7. I found you via the link up and am following! I have been trying to find a good flannel shirt that doesn't make me look like a lumberjack. So far I haven't had any luck...My husband and I honeymooned in Gatinburg! We didn't realize it was such a tourist trap, but it was still pretty fun. I think there are 100's of little shops to explore. Have fun!

  8. Gatlinburg is definitely a tourist trap! This time of the year especially but it's so pretty down there right now and I love just walking through the shops! Thanks so much for stopping by, Elizabeth!

  11. Thanks, Niki! That lipstick was actually only a dollar. It's e.l.f. and I think the color is rich red.

  12. Oasap has a lot that I like but they're very hit or miss with shoes. These, however, are EXACTLY what I was looking for. And Oasap really has great stuff for great prices!

  23. Thank you, Daphne! (LOVE the name btw!) I always struggle with the cat eye! One side never seems to match the other! Good to know it's not too noticeable! haha I'm glad you stopped by!

  24. This might sound odd, but I really like your emphasis on eye-makeup with this particular tomboy-grows-up-sexy look. Not over the top ... adds to the narrative. You are, of course, looking easy-peazy chic. Love it all.

  25. Thank you, Jan! Kind as always! I think this shirt could go "lumberjack" real quick. I think it's the makeup and boots that keep it feminine and chic. Got to love accessories!
