Gratitude by the Thousands
I want to begin this post by saying thank you. So many of you left such kind words on my last post about losing my grandma. The response was so unexpected and overwhelming. I have felt so isolated in my grief. My grandma wasn't just a grandma to me; she was a mother, a sister, a best friend and in the end, a child. She always took care of me and she always loved me, even when I didn't deserve it. Only a remarkable woman could be capable of such unconditional love and caring. I have had such a hard time accepting the loss that no one else can relate to. But, so many of you shared with me, an almost perfect stranger, the feelings and loss of your beloved grandmas. You have helped me feel less alone and for that I am so tremendously grateful to each and every one of you. For everyone who left a kind word, thought or prayer, you have really touched my heart. Thank you so much!
So today is a tribute to the beautiful person my grandma was, the beautiful person she will always be to me. I will forever miss her but I have been so very lucky to have learned from her and to have been loved by her. She was, and is, a remarkable woman.
